STAY AT THE HALL
Experience a luxury country house escape amidst the vaulted halls and castellated towers of this historic home. The Hall is the centrepiece of one of the most extraordinary private estates in England, with 28,000 acres to explore.
Guests can take part in a range of activities on the estate and nearby, including some of the finest fishing, walking and cycling in England. Or they can stay closer to home, exploring the private walled garden and surrounds, extended for HM Queen Elizabeth II’s stay.
The Hall
Dating in part from the 14th century, The Hall is decorated with antiques, fine art and objects from the family’s private collection. Surrounded by moors and woodlands, the residence is accessed via a ‘hole-in-the-wall’ in the original monastic fortification, at the end of a sweeping drive.
Guests can relax within wood-panelled drawing rooms, enjoy a game of billiards or entertain in the vaulted Dining Hall.
The Rooms
The Hall’s 12 bedrooms, 10 of which were recently refurbished by Rita Konig, accommodate up to 22 people. All are individual and furnished with items from the family’s eclectic collection of books, arts, photographs, and personal mementos. Most rooms look across the manicured gardens to the 12th-century Bolton Priory Church and the River Wharfe beyond.
Dining
Breakfast and dinner, included in guests’ stay, are prepared by award-winning chefs who use ingredients sourced from the estate’s river, moors and gardens, and the best local producers.
Enjoy a banquet, dine on the terrace, or take afternoon tea in the drawing room. The team will take care of your every need throughout your stay.
The Gardens
The landscaped gardens surrounding The Hall offer perfect places to relax with a book, have a picnic or enjoy an afternoon of croquet on the lawn. Guests have exclusive access to the private walled kitchen and cutting garden.
