Please allow me to gush just a bit about our experience at The Hall at Bolton Abbey.  Everything was so beautifully done from the flower arrangements and gracious staff to the exquisite gardens and fabulous cuisine.  Our rooms were inviting and clean as a whistle.  The Hall felt so inviting and personal, as if we were guests of the Duke and Duchess ourselves.  The special touches of snacks and a letter of introduction brought the experience to an entirely new level.  We are grateful beyond measure for the memories made with dear friends at your pastoral Yorkshire retreat.

Again, thank you for everything you did to make our five nights at The Hall feel like a fairytale with a very happy ending!

The days really raced by, making it easy to understand why generations of the Devonshire family have treasured this special part of your green and pleasant land.

The quality of the food served was wonderful. Having been asked to serve up the best of Britain, your back of house staff delivered.  One of our guests – who knows her fish – remarked to me a couple of days ago that the Dover Sole was the best she had ever tasted.  I found everything served to be great.

Your front of house service staff, from the maids, who have that special quality of being invisible and yet who took great care of our rooms and a not minor amount of laundry, to the butlers who served our drinks and meals, was top notch.

You were always there, making sure all was perfect.  Setting the example for others, showing how things are done the right way the first time.  Thank you for making this celebration of my 75th so special.

Before signing off, I also offer my thanks to the Devonshire family for making Bolton Hall available to us for my celebration.  A lot of love and hard work has gone into this property. Maribeth and I manage four “second homes” for my family – believe me, we know.  It’s a brilliant result.  And, how fun it is to think that we found this in the FT!  Improbable, but wonderful.

So, again, thanks so much!  We shall hope to return soon.

To the manor born! Well, for 2 days – what a lovely place to stay. Cavendish room very comfortable, excellent food, staff and adventure. Thank you!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Chris, Connor and the team at the Hall at Bolton Abbey where I was part of the Howard Bilton group last week.

We all had a superb time and I hope were well enough behaved for the magnificent property!!  I just wanted to say that the hospitality provided by the team was second to none. Not just what one might expect, but the attention to detail and to what guests might want went beyond the call of duty. From digging out a croquet set, to ironing everyone’s shirts! The food was great and the staff friendly and professional.
